 Amistad Dam

The Eagles pictured here are at the center of the dam; at the Texas - Mexico border. With the Mexican eagle on the left and the US eagle on the right.  On September 8, 1969 the dam was dedicated by Presidents Diaz Ordaz and Nixon

The Amistad dam across the Rio Grande river is important to the Del Rio community.  The six mile long structure  impounds lake Amistad which provides flood control, electricity, irrigation and recreation.
